With Americans consuming almost 25 pounds of candy per person per year, half of which comes from chocolate bars, things can become rather difficult for those of us looking to reach those New Year’s goals or simply stay healthy (via Warrell Corporation). If you think that serving sizes matter, then you might be surprised to see how many servings are actually in your regular or fun-sized candy bars. Unfortunately, the popular Twix candy bar is no exception.
According to The Daily Meal, Twix ranked at number six on their list of most unhealthy Halloween candies, due to its high calories. A fun-size Twix pack contains a staggering 24 grams of sugar and 250 calories, with seven grams of saturated fat, which includes about 1/4 of your recommended fat intake (via Eat This). Although “fun-sized,” when it comes to nutritional value, there isn’t really anything fun about this Twix bar. Insider tells the same calorie-laden story for Twix. When all is said and done, might it be wise to skip the left or right debate and instead, skip it all together? Food for thought.
