What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation was myself. I’ve always wanted to live a healthier lifestyle. But, growing up, I didn’t have good examples of what health or fitness was supposed to look like. Also, I was just tired of being tired in my own skin.

How did you change your eating habits?
I just cut back on everything. For example, I ate sweets daily before, but I cut it down to 2 times a week. I also stopped drinking all sodas and sweet drinks. The biggest change was actually monitoring what I was putting in my mouth.

What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
Initially, I mostly did cardio. Then, I researched and observed that I wasn’t getting stronger, just leaner. Now I mostly do strength and resistance training. I go to the gym 3-4 times a week.

What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 236 pounds, and my current weight is 176 pounds.

What is your height?
I’m 5’5″.

When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey in February 2021. This transformation took nine months.

Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, it’s not. However, there was a time when I wanted VSG surgery [gastric sleeve]. I thought I would never be able to lose weight on my own! But, boy, was I wrong!

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest form of self-love/self-care is taking care of your health.

What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Be patient with yourself. This is not a race. It’s a Journey!

Motivation isn’t needed. Instead, you need dedication and consistency. Also, don’t start any diet that you can’t maintain for life.
